Aegis Aerospace is seeking a skilled Mission & Integration Modeling Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL.
The Period of Performance (POP) is through 30 June 2025 but will most likely be extended through March 2026 or beyond. This is an onsite role initially with a 9x80 (9,9,9,9,8- 1st week, 9,9,9,9 off Friday-2nd week) work schedule. After two weeks role may become hybrid with two days onsite per week.
Overview
Aegis Aerospace, in collaboration with Lockheed Martin, is seeking a mission and integration modeling engineer to support the Mars Ascent Vehicle Integrated System (MAVIS) program. This role will focus on developing and maintaining key mission models, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of system interactions, and supporting mission success through model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
As a mission and integration modeling engineer, you will develop and own the operations concept sequence of events (OCSE) model, mission success tree, and requirements validation models. You will also support the development of interface control document (ICD) SysML models while collaborating with NASA and MAVIS subsystem teams to ensure mission success.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the operations concept sequence of events (OCSE) model, mission success tree, and requirements validation models
Support the development and refinement of interface control document (ICD) SysML models
Collaborate with NASA teams to understand MAV concept of operations (CONOPS) and capture technical content required for MAVIS subsystems
Create and refine complex sequence diagrams that describe space mission sequence of events and interactions across systems
Utilize MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or Rhapsody to develop and maintain mission models
Ensure consistency and traceability of system models with requirements, design elements, and validation plans
Follow a structured model development plan to ensure rigor and discipline in MBSE practices
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must presently be a US Citizen
Must have a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, computer science, or related field from an accredited college
Strong MBSE expertise with proficiency in SysML and experience using MBSE tools (Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, Rhapsody)
Experience developing complex sequence diagrams for space missions or other complex aerospace systems
Demonstrated ability to develop requirements validation models, mission success trees, and goal trees
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, computer science, or a related field from an accredited college
Systems engineering experience in space systems, launch vehicles, or deep-space missions
Experience following a disciplined model development plan or similar structured MBSE frameworks
Experience with NASA mission operations and systems engineering processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat, with the ability to effectively utilize these tools for documentation, communication, and collaboration
