***This is a general application for the positions below. Each position details where it will be located***Samtec CareersAbout Samtec: At Samtec we develop mid-board optical transceivers, these transceivers provide high density bandwidth interconnect (Gb/s/mm^2) and low powers. By mounting mid-board, the signal integrity challenges within PCB traces can be overcome. Such assemblies also provide key capabilities for onboard, in-rack, and other applications where front faceplate transceivers are not applicable.New Product Development Leader for Optoelectronics AssembliesSilicon Valley Design Center, Vista Design Center, Colorado Springs, COOur NPD leaders own all aspects of their programs, managing a staff of inter-disciplinary (engineering) and cross-functional experts, from concept approval through production release. They are highly effective leaders steeped in product development, optical transceiver product technology, and have proven competence in a key engineering discipline with adjacent competencies in others enough to be an effective leader and manager, such as EE, RF-optics, SI, ME, optics, thermal, FW.Product Engineering Manager Colorado Springs, COOur product engineers collaborate closely with the new product development leaders and the engineering discipline experts to ensure the product is well-development for manufacturing, and that a complete and accurate design and fabrication document package accompanies the launch of our new products. The product engineers become resident experts for released products, coordinating product improvements and sustainment with a cross-functional team. The product engineering manager will help define best practices and mentor the team of product engineers for our line of optical transceivers.Mechanical Design Engineer in Optics Silicon Valley Design Center, Vista Design Center, Colorado Springs, CO, New Albany, INMechanical Engineers need to have expertise in optics. Our Mechanical Engineers collaboratively design the transceivers with EEs, signal integrity experts, optical specialists, and process engineers. They are experts in mechanical design, engineering documentation, FEA, tolerance analysis, thermal transfer, micromechanical analysis, and low-cost methods - with an adjacent competency in optical design. Through the product development process, they improve the designs for manufacturing and ensure all validation and qualification requirements are satisfied while achieving business case product cost and yield targets.Additive Manufacturing Process EngineerVista Design Center, Colorado Springs, CO, Delaware Design Center, DEOur Additive Manufacturing Engineers collaboratively work with our product designers to develop and implement new manufacturing processes which enable the next generation of optical products. Our AM Engineers are experts at evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce costs, improve sustainability, improve quality, and develop best practices. The main focus of the AM Engineers work is to participate in the selection of AM materials, understand and characterize key process variables, develop reliable process windows, and improve consistency and efficiency of additive manufacturing processes.RF-Optics Product Design and Development EngineerlocationOur RF-optics product design and development engineers own the technical direction and decisions for designing and developing optical transceiver products. They lead a technical team of multiple engineering disciplines in EE, RF signal integrity, optics, mechanical, thermal, firmware, and process development - throughout the product development life cycle. These engineers translate product requirements to product and project metrics and execute prototype bring-up, integration, characterization, and product validation. The metrics are further used in product qualification and production testing. In lead roles, they remove roadblocks in new product development and provide technical advice to NPD leaders.Test Engineer (PAM 4)Silicon Valley Design Center, Vista Design Center, Colorado Springs, COThe Test Engineer is a self-motivated contributor, working with engineering groups at SAMTEC to develop and deliver optical product testing solutions for volume manufacturing. This position plans and executes the test development activities of assigned programs. They will ensure product test requirements are clearly defined, create plans to meet the requirements, and assist in roadmap development for continuous improvement. The Optics Test Engineer with PAM4 experience is the key point of contact for other groups on test development activities, until a manufacturable solution has been transferred to production, and then will continue to support on-going production as required.
