Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Protection Project Manager to join our cybersecurity team. This role involves leading and overseeing data protection enhancement initiatives within our Threat Defense team to ensure successful project delivery and management.
Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct project team members throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring deliverables meet cost, schedule, and scope commitments.
  • Evaluate projects for risks and issues, and develop effective mitigation plans while coordinating escalations as necessary.
  • Maintain regular interactions with project stakeholders to inform, negotiate, and drive decision-making required for successful project outcomes.
  • Analyze project proposals to determine time frames, funding limitations, and appropriate processes for accomplishing projects.
  • Control project costs against the budget, maintaining accurate forecasts and regularly reporting variances.
  • Serve as the primary interface for Threat Defense projects with other internal and external project managers and stakeholders.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Atlassian products, specifically Jira and Confluence, and coach the team on daily use in managing project work.
  • Adhere to enterprise IT PMO standard methodologies, processes, and tools, and develop and maintain project documentation and work plans.
Skills
  • 5-8 years of project management experience in a large multi-unit organization, including program management experience.
  • Strong background in data protection, including CASB and DLP projects.
  • Advanced project management skills in complex IT and business environments, coordinating multiple teams in various locations and time zones.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff while maintaining alignment with business strategy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain project goals to both business and technical leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Skills
  • Prior experience in cybersecurity, including threat detection, monitoring, and response, security engineering, Red Team, or GRC.
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) is desired but not required.
  • Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial leadership qualities.
