POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Operates, maintains, repairs, and installs various types of electronic equipment associated with Instrumentation radars; personal and mainframe computers and terminals; industrial, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices. Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operations. Uses FileMaker Pro and Microsoft software products to perform daily duties.

Applies technical knowledge to perform simple or routine O&M tasks following detailed instructions. Performs such tasks as operating electronic instrumentation equipment, replacing components and wiring circuits; repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, power meters, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes. Verifies that Instrumentation radars are operating within OEM and support parameters prior to test support. Ensure site records comply with established procedures.

Receives technical guidance, as required from supervisor or higher level technician. Work is spot-checked for accuracy. Performs other duties as required. Communicate and work effectively with supervisors, coworkers, Government and other personnel.

Work will include associated cross-utilization into other jobs as required. May require TDY, overtime and weekend work



MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Graduation from a two year electronics training program or three years of work experience in the electronics field. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two years experience in troubleshooting RF problems in transmitters, receivers, RF cabling, antenna servo systems and digital circuitry. Knowledge of VME and IBM compatible computers, peripherals and software. Knowledge of computer networks and network troubleshooting.
