The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and curious SeniorDirector of Analytics to standup and lead a small but high-performing Analytics team that blends data, advanced analytics, and a deep sense of curiosity to uncover insights to previously unanswered questions that drive strategic decision-making and commercial performance. Central to this role is the ability to work in a highly matrixed organization to build analytical frameworks to best understand leaders, companies and the unique combinations that drive success in an ever-changing world. You will play a critical role in shaping our data-driven culture, designing experiments, and ensuring that analytics are at the heart of our decision-making processes.

This role requires a hands-on leader who is comfortable working across the analytics lifecycle-from data acquisition to insight generation and stakeholder communication. Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of analysts, ensuring they operate effectively and efficiently in delivering high-impact insights.
Work closely with business leaders to identify and narrow a list of key questions and challenges that analytics can help solve, driving meaningful commercial outcomes.
Partner with the Heads of Data Architecture & Data Science to build and optimize data pipelines and analytical frameworks to enable efficient data exploration and hypothesis testing where insights add to a growing understanding of key entities
Design and execute rigorous analytics & experimentation strategies (A/B testing, causal inference, etc.) to evaluate business decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Leverage SQL, Python/R, and other analytical tools to extract, analyze, and visualize data effectively.
Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights through compelling storytelling and visualization techniques.
Act as a strategic partner to stakeholders, providing thought leadership on the application of analytics in decision-making.
Champion a culture of curiosity, innovation, and analytical excellence within the team and across the organization.
Work cross-functionally with business line leaders, product, marketing, operations, and engineering teams to align analytics with business goals and drive measurable impact.
Required Qualifications
7-10 years of progressive experience in analytics or data science with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Master's degree in statistics, analytics, data science, or similar field, or equivalent practical work experience.
Intermediate to advanced expertise in SQL and at least one statistical programming language (R or Python).
Strong experience designing and analyzing experiments (A/B testing, multivariate testing, causal inference techniques) with expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence and statistical analysis.
Ability to communicate complex insights in a clear and engaging manner, influencing business stakeholders at all levels.
End-to-End Analytics Lifecycle Experience from data acquisition and transformation to insight generation and executive presentation.
Comfort presenting to senior leadership and influencing high-stakes decisions with data-driven insights.
Experience managing and developing small analytics teams, working cross-functionally in highly matrixed teams, fostering collaboration and high performance.
A curious mindset with a strong ability to break down ambiguous business problems and apply analytical solutions.
Strong understanding of how data and analytics drive business and commercial performance.
Ability to drive data literacy and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across an organization.
Ability to work effectively across multiple teams, aligning analytics initiatives with broader business objectives.
Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, etc.) with the ability to acquire data from disparate sources.
Understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and ethical AI principles when handling data.
Preferred Qualifications
Expert understanding of People Analytics with experience leveraging analytical frameworks and building key metrics to understand impact potential now and into the future.
Ph.D. in data analytics, statistics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or related fields or 5+ years delivering people analytics in a top-tier consulting firm.
Pay Range Guidelines for this Position: The salary range for this position is 170000 USD to 200000 USD. Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience and skills. In addition to your salary, Heidrick & Struggles offers discretionary bonuses (subject to eligibility requirements) and a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, disability leave, parental leave, paid time off and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Note: we have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
