The Bank Corporate Development Strategist will partner directly with the Chief Banking & Capital Markets Officer and executive leadership on key initiatives that drive the bank's growth, expansion into new business lines, and financial, capital, and regulatory planning. This role will provide analytical and strategic analysis to influence high-impact decisions while engaging with board members, regulators, external advisors and key internal stakeholders to support critical business direction.
Responsibilities:
Partner directly with the Chief Banking & Capital Markets Officer and executive leadership on key initiatives that drive the bank's growth, expansion into new business lines, and financial, capital, and regulatory planning
Provide analytical and strategic analysis to influence high-impact decisions while engaging with board members, regulators, external advisors and key internal stakeholders to support critical business direction
Bank Growth Strategy: Support the development and execution of strategic initiatives, including expansion into new lines of business and optimization of existing banking operations; prepare and develop data-driven insights, financial modeling, and strategic analysis to support and advance banking operations and capital markets activities
Financial, Capital & Regulatory Planning: Assist in capital planning, risk assessments, and regulatory strategy to support sustainable growth; analyze financial models to assess portfolio performance, risk exposure, market trends, secondary market activities, and new programs
Executive Leadership Support: Develop analytical insights and strategic recommendations to the Chief Banking Officer and executive team; collaborate with internal teams within Treasury, Operations and other key functional areas
Stakeholder Engagement: Translate business strategy to develop and prepare presentations and materials for board and executive meetings, regulatory discussions, and external partnerships
Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct research and financial modeling to evaluate opportunities and risks in the banking and financial services sector and to support executive decision making on the bank's financial health
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, include but not limited to compliance and operational risk. Demonstrate consideration for Cenlar's reputation as well as our clients, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration or related field or equivalent experience
3+ years of experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, investment banking, or a related field within financial services
Knowledge of banking and mortgage markets is a plus
Proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, data analysis) and PowerPoint (executive presentations)
Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex financial and market data into clear, actionable insights
Adept at navigating ambiguity and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across executive teams
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate strategic thinking into consumable work
Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and identify critical intelligence and data interpretations
