The academic librarian will support all aspects of the Library & Learning Services, including student research support, circulation, cataloging, collection development in alignment with the curriculum, usage analytics of print and electronic resources, assessment of student learning and service area outcomes, library-related programming and events, student outreach and advocacy, and general support of tutoring and tutor training.
In collaboration with disciplinary faculty, the librarian will assist in the development and delivery of transformational learning experiences (e.g., workshops, lesson plans, digital learning objects, activities) to support student competency and mastery of critical thinking and information literacy learning outcomes.
The Library & Learning Services at Lake Tahoe Community College promotes LTCC's mission by providing personalized research and tutoring support services, quality information literacy instruction, and course-related library materials for all students. They facilitate access and success through student-centered services, spaces, and collections. They strive to be an engaging and dynamic academic hub for students' individualized and collaborative tutoring, learning, and research needs.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
After review, applicants judged most suitable for the position will be invited to initial interviews. These applicants will be notified by phone on or about Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Initial interviews will be conducted by a committee of campus constituents and are tentatively scheduled for May 1 & 2, 2025.
Finalists will then be invited to a secondary process on May 21 & 22, 2025. Travel allowances and district-provided lodging will be provided to qualifying applicants. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee an interview.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary Range: LTCC offers a competitive compensation package that includes a starting placement salary of $74,211 to $96,110 annually for faculty who hold a master's degree or equivalent, dependent upon teaching and work experience, or starting placement salary of $89,566 to $111,466 annually for faculty who hold a doctoral degree, dependent upon teaching and work experience. Benefits: Health and Welfare benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long term disability. These benefits also include full coverage of a gold-level medical plan which, on average, covers 80% of healthcare expenses for a standard population. LTCC also matches 19.1% of an eligible employee's salary and contributes it into a CalSTRS pension account for qualifying employees.
This position is a 200-day contract and 12 months per year, including summer and winter hours. Days and Hours are predicted to be Sunday through Thursday with an expectation of evening shifts, hours may vary according to the needs of the program. This position is exempt from overtime compensation.

As this position covers two areas of discipline, the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges, Title V Regulations, requires that the successful candidate must demonstrate that they satisfy minimum qualifications for Library Science.
