Job Role Summary
The Certified Massage Therapist/Esthetician performs duties as a Certified Massage Therapist professional who engages in helping to relax and rejuvenate the body through massage therapy and performs as a licensed skin care professional who engages in helping to restore and maintain the skin's appearance. This position functions as a clinical expert in massage therapy and esthetics and consults with medical director regarding plans of care for patients and clients as needed.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Performs as a Certified Massage Therapist/licensed skin care professional who engages in helping to Relax and Rejuvenate the body through massage therapy, restoring and maintaining the skin's appearance
Functions as clinical expert in massage therapy and esthetics and consults with medical director regarding plans of care for patients and clients as needed
Maintains clinical competency related to massage therapy and esthetics, products, procedures and licensure
Provides direct patient and client contact for massage therapy and esthetic services
Provides consistent high quality customer service
Provides massage therapy services to clients and patients to include the following:
Consultation and education
Upper body massage or lower body massage
Full body massage
Provides skin services to clients and patients to include the following:
Skin care consultation and education
Facials
Chemical Peels
Makeup application and instruction
Upper body massage
Full body massage if certified
Facial waxing
Under the direction of the medical director and following competency check off the esthetician may provide the following:
Microdermabrasion
Medical facials or peels
Maintains knowledge and competency of massage and esthetic products regarding appropriate use, side effects, contraindications, and price points on the following:
Cosmetic preparations
Antiseptics
Lotions
Tonics
Creams
Maintains infection control practices of spa area to include the following:
Hand hygiene before and after patient/client contact
Cleaning and sanitization of equipment
Cleaning and sanitization of tools
Maintains area in consistent state of regulatory readiness
Maintains documentation for medical records on patients coming for medical spa procedures under the direction of medical director
Obtains consent for services
Maintains client and patient treatment log for service consistency
Tracks ongoing inventory of all products
Maintains product ordering and tracking
Maintains responsibility for payment collection for services and products
Job Requirements
Current active MASSAGE THERAPIST CERTIFICATION to practice in the state of Indiana required in good standing
CURRENT ESTHETIC LICENSE to practice in the state of Indiana required in good standing
Maintains professional development through a variety of activities such as certifications, ongoing education, conferences, and participation in national organizations where applicable
Maintains required annual competency for employment as set forth by institution
CPR (BLS) certification required
Minimum of two years MASSAGE THERAPY experience-medical setting preferred
Minimum of two years esthetician experience-medical setting preferred
