Required Education PhD, DrPH or equivalent terminal degree in public health, health services research, health policy, public health systems and services research, or a closely related discipline.
Required Related Experience Demonstrated ability in research, teaching, and service. Ability to relate with internal and external constituencies of the University involved in related disciplines. Interpersonal skills in communicating with a wide variety of professionals within and outside the University. A good understanding of public health and ability to mentor students.

Job Summary The University of Kentucky College of Public Health is currently seeking applications for an assistant, associate, or professor, regular title series, 12-month appointment period. Our department is a welcoming and collegial community, home to highly collaborative faculty members with robust research programs in health policy, health law, quality and safety, public health systems, population health networks, and person-centered service delivery. Educational offerings include a BPH, MPH, a CAHME-accredited MHA, a PhD in Health Services Research and PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. We seek a faculty member with expertise in health services, public health systems, health policy, and evaluation research. Research activities of the faculty member are open to the specific focus of the candidate. The selected candidate will teach and mentor students in the College of Public Health at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. This is a full-time continuous appointment.

The individual in this position should show potential for success in teaching and student mentorship and be capable of teaching courses in our core programs, including undergraduate and graduate students in the areas of public health policy, public health systems and program management and evaluation. Research on the integration of health, public health, social services, and local government systems as well as implementation of system-level solutions to address unmet social needs and the social determinants of health. The successful candidate will serve on appropriate committees and professional organizations on a regional or national level, along with appropriate College of Public Health, University and department committees.

The the individual in this position will function as a full-time member of a Department within the College of Public Health. Job duties will include:

* Develop and maintain an active research program that focuses health services, public health systems, health policy or evaluation research with a specific focus based on the faculty area of expertise.
* The appointee will teach at least two courses and mentor students as well as contribute to other courses in the College of Public Health for the undergraduate or graduate programs.
* The appointee will chair and serve as a member of graduate student committees.
* The appointee will publish research manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.
* The appointee will submit proposals and obtain extramural funding.
* The appointee will increase the use of research evidence among practitioners, policymakers, and advocates to improve health policies, services, and systems.
