JOB DESCRIPTION
The Rooms Preventative Maintenance Engineer is responsible for executing the hotel's Rooms Preventative Maintenance (RPM) program, as well as other general maintenance in accordance with the standards of Shaner Hotels and respective franchises. This position requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a customer service-oriented approach to maintenance.
Perform routine maintenance inspections of all guest rooms, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and other critical systems, as well as other general maintenance in accordance with hotel and franchise standards.
Identify and address any maintenance issues or potential issues promptly, to prevent them from becoming larger problems that could impact the guest experience.
Maintain and repair guest room furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) as needed, including cleaning and polishing of all surfaces and replacement of worn or damaged items.
Work closely with housekeeping and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure that the guest experience is not impacted.
Use software systems and other tools to track and schedule maintenance activities and maintain accurate records of all work performed.
Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests' service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
Carry equipment (e.g., tools, radio, earpiece), and follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials.
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Good organizational skills, with the ability to work independently. Ability to function well under pressure, set priorities and adjust to changing conditions. High work ethic, with a sense of responsibility for the role filled within our team.
Must be fluent in English and possess legal work authorization in the United States. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
