JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Project Manager for Brazos Thermal Systems. Inc. is responsible for supervising and managing specific job projects at off-site locations. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects effectively and efficiently. This role involves coordinating project team members, resources, and stakeholders to ensure successful project completion within set deadlines and budget constraints. The Project Manager will be the key point of contact for project stakeholders and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project management, including risk management, quality control, and project documentation.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports directly to and is fully accountable to the Vice President of Operations/Division Manager. The Vice President of Operations/Division Manager will appoint the Project Manager for each project.

Reporting to this position are the following:
  • All company Trainees, Apprentices, and Journeymen on the project
  • All subcontractors assigned to the job.
  • All operators and crew of rental equipment at the site.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Education requirement of a High School diploma or a GED, prefer. Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Project Management).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus. Osha 30 certification.
  • Prefer five to seven (5-7) years of experience as a journeyman of which two (2) years must have been working in commercial/industrial construction.
  • Proven experience as a project manager, with a track record of successfully completing projects on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • General knowledge and skills in the construction trade and working in commercial/industrial roofing.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices. The ability to supervise and manage a crew of journeymen and apprentices working at a customer location.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Deltek, Asana).
  • Coordinate materials, labor and hours to complete the job project at or below the scheduled amount and to produce a quality product with no safety violations or accidents.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • The physical requirements for this position are, at times, rough and vigorous.
  • The job requires the Project Manager to move about the worksite which can be littered with new and old construction material.
  • During all phases, the Project Manager must inspect, observe and direct the employees and others in performing their tasks.
  • He/she must climb ladders, steps and crawl over, and look into confined spaces.
  • All body senses of sight, speech (English), hearing, and smell are required.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Harsh, rigorous and at times rough conditions describe the conditions of commercial/industrial construction.
  • Hazardous conditions exist, and safety is a concern. Company, statutory, and customer rules and regulations are to be strictly enforced.
  • The projects are outdoors with dust, high heat, and other weather and construction related hazards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Responsible for the efficient, effective, on-time, safe, economical (at or below budget) and quality operation of EACH job or project.
  • Coordinate the flow of materials to and on the site.
  • Verifies/monitors the amount and quality of work of the employees or subcontractors.
  • Assures that all projects are completed per code or customer requirements.
  • Coordinates with the Vice President of Operations on scheduling priorities.
  • Provides for the security of equipment and materials at the site.
  • Maintains a supply of all required documents and ensures that all required payroll, safety, billing, etc. information is recorded daily (using the appropriate app).

DUTIES AND TASKS
  • Making it understood by all employees that the safety of the customer, employees and quality is our number one concern in all phases of our work.
  • Guarantees management that all activities will be in compliance with the laws and statutes of the various governmental agencies.
  • Responsible for accurate labor charges for each project daily.
  • Instruct all employees that report to this position with clear, concise written information and make sure the individual receiving them understands the order.
  • Responsible for completing and submitting daily and weekly reports to the Vice President of Operations. Brazos Thermal Systems, Inc.
  • Develop project plans and schedules, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Identify and manage project scope, resources, and budget to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Assign employees reporting to him to specific tasks and schedules.
  • Responsible for the security and safekeeping of all company equipment, tools, supplies and materials assigned to the project.
  • Assures that all field orders/changes are written properly and are signed by the owner (even when there is no cost change).
  • Conduct regular project status meetings and reports to update stakeholders on project progress. Ensure Daily and Weekly safety meetings are held with all the crew members and sub-contractors.
  • Coordinate and communicate with project team members, stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure project milestones are met. Monitor and manage project risks and issues and implement mitigation strategies as needed. Keep the Vice President of Operations informed of any problem that may impact the schedule completion, labor cost, or overall cost of the project.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinates the material delivery and subcontractor schedules in a manner so as not to have an impact on the overall project completion schedule.
  • Document project activities, decisions, and outcomes for future reference and knowledge transfer. Evaluate project outcomes and success criteria, capturing lessons learned and best practices for future projects.
  • Performs any other duty or task as may be assigned from time to time by the Vice President of Operations.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT
  • Completing job projects at or below the estimated amount.
  • Completing job projects on time or ahead of schedule.
  • Completing all job projects without being cited for violating any customer or governmental agency code or rule.
  • Ensures that all paperwork and reports are produced and submitted daily.
  • Manages each project with a smooth flow of work from assignment to the completion of the project.
  • No customer complaints or rework required due to below standard work.
  • Ensure all team members are made aware of any potential hazards on the job site.
  • Cooperates fully with the Vice President of Operations.
  • The degree of morale and motivation within the crews are consistently maintained at a high level.
  • All business activities are conducted in a prudent and ethical manner according to our Core Values.
  • Resolves project problems before reaching the Vice President of Operations. Any unresolved problem will be presented to the Vice President of Operations with a suggested solution, or several alternatives complete with their relative merits and probable consequences.
  • Ensure all equipment is checked daily for possible hazards.
  • Ensure no team member has any lost time accidents.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
