Job Title: Senior Superintendent - Commercial Construction
Location: Stockton, CA (and surrounding Central Valley area)
Job Summary:
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Superintendent to lead on-site field operations for commercial construction projects in and around Stockton, CA. The Senior Superintendent will be responsible for managing all day-to-day job site activities, ensuring project schedules are met, maintaining high safety standards, and delivering quality construction. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in ground-up construction, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to coordinate subcontractors and field teams efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Leadership & Project Oversight
Lead all job site operations for multiple or large-scale commercial construction projects.
Ensure that all field activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
Develop and manage daily and weekly work plans; coordinate with subcontractors and vendors.
Work with project management to update schedules and identify potential delays or conflicts.
Team Coordination & Supervision
Supervise all on-site personnel, including subcontractors, laborers, and field staff.
Promote a positive and productive work environment and mentor junior superintendents or field engineers.
Lead daily site meetings and ensure all trades are aligned on sequencing and priorities.
Quality Control & Safety Enforcement
Enforce all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures; ensure a zero-incident worksite.
Conduct regular site inspections to verify adherence to drawings, specs, and quality expectations.
Resolve field issues in real-time, preventing rework and minimizing disruptions.
Client & Inspector Coordination
Serve as the primary on-site liaison for clients, consultants, inspectors, and regulatory authorities.
Facilitate walkthroughs, inspections, and final turnover requirements.
Communicate effectively with project stakeholders on progress and key milestones.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10+ years of field experience in commercial or industrial construction, with at least 5 years as a lead or senior superintendent.
Strong background in ground-up projects, including tilt-up, steel, concrete, and MEP systems.
Experience working with local jurisdictions in the Central Valley, including permitting and inspections.
Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, schedules, and specifications.
Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and Microsoft Project.
