Project Managers are responsible for planning, organizing, and directing specific projects while ensuring they are completed on time, on budget, and within scope. Project managers plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way. By overseeing projects from inception to completion, project managers have the potential to shape the organization's trajectory in turn helping to reduce costs, maximize company efficiencies, and increase revenue.
Position Responsibilities:
Plan and Develop the Project Idea
Define the main objectives, purpose, scope, timeline, and budget
Create an integrated project plan focused on attaining the outlined goals
Utilize appropriate tools to plan project timelines, tasks, milestones, and deadlines.
Build a Team and Execute
Identify internal and external stakeholders, discuss shared expectations, and gain the required authorization necessary to move forward
Lead a team capable of meeting or exceeding client expectations
Keep open and honest communication, form working relationships, and provide guidance as needed
Motivate the team to work together in the most efficient manner
Execute project operation plans and identify potential problems (risks and issues), taking timely corrective action when necessary, and facilitating all touch points through the project
Monitoring and Controlling
Ensure tasks are finished within the confines of the assignment
Anticipate delays or change/expansion in a project's deliverables and appraise the team of any changes in the client's needs
Hold regular project status meetings with project team and superiors, resolving and/or escalating issues in a timely manner
Update key stakeholders on project progress through daily or weekly emails, calls, meetings, reports, and/or dashboards.
Manage all aspects of project financials for multiple projects at a time to ensure customer and vendor invoicing is timely and accurate.
Ensure the project does not exceed resource allocations. This may also include reviewing and approving invoices from outside vendors if the project includes such partnerships
Ensure Stakeholder Satisfaction
Keep open lines of communication for updates and feedback
Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions
Develop and sustain productive relationships with customers and key stakeholders
Evaluate Project Performance
Responsible for evaluating project efficiency and effectiveness with the data tracked throughout the process
Review the work of third-party vendors or partners in order to close their contracts and pay their invoices
Identify shortcomings and plan for ways to fix similar issues in the future
Highlight what went right, including building camaraderie and rewarding team members who excelled during the project
Conduct a lesson learned meeting; provide financial reports and budget outlines to internal stakeholders
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field
2-3 years of project management and/or relevant experience
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associated in Project Management (CAPM) preferred
Proven ability to solve problems creatively
Capability to build and manage interpersonal relationships
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
