What You'll Do
Collaborate: Work with product owners and stakeholders to understand business problems and advocate for user experience.
Research Strategies: Develop research strategies to define and achieve product portfolio objectives and key results (OKRs).
Conduct Research: Utilize quantitative and qualitative UX research methodologies (heuristic reviews, click tests, competitive analyses, surveys, eye tracking, usability testing, user interviews) to assess ease-of-use, comprehension, and satisfaction.
Present Insights: Communicate actionable insights to all organizational levels based on research outcomes.
Data Analysis: Use analytical tools to gather data insights that support portfolio research strategies and enhance UX understanding.
Customer Journey Maps: Create, update, and own Customer Journey Maps and Service Blueprints to help product teams understand customer pain points and foster empathy.
Agile Environment: Work in a self-guided agile environment, managing multiple meetings and projects.
Benchmark Performance: Guide and benchmark product performance with quantitative UX metrics; proactively review customer feedback to identify problem areas.
Scale Research: Build infrastructure, educate others, and contribute to ResearchOps.
Manage Resources: Oversee research software/hardware (including eye tracking equipment) and participant recruitment resources.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Visual Design, Behavioral Sciences, Psychology, or related discipline.
Experience: 5+ years in applied user experience research at large enterprises or highly matrixed organizations.
Skills: Strong understanding of user-centered design, qualitative and quantitative research methods, and analytical skills.
Tools: Proficiency with remote unmoderated testing tools and moderated testing platforms
Design Tools: Familiarity with modern design and prototyping tools (such as Figma, Zeplin, Flinto, Sketch, Adobe CC, etc).
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate across disciplines, product lines, and roles.
Project Management: Ability to build strategy, set objectives & key results, and deliver on time.
Analytical Tools: Proficiency in modern analytical dashboards and tools
Advocacy: Desire to promote and teach the importance of user-centered research to product owners, stakeholders, and designers.
Presentation Skills: Ability to present work clearly and compellingly to stakeholders, explaining design recommendations with best practices, testing data, and business requirements.
Data Analysis: Expert user of Excel or other tools for analyzing large data sets.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Graduate degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Visual Design, Psychology, or related discipline.
Experience: 7+ years in applied user experience research in a portfolio and product-based work environment.
Research Scaling: Experience scaling research practices and setting up a research insights repository.
Field Research: Experience conducting field research with unionized workforces.
AI Knowledge: Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its application to UX practices.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to label, classify, and intelligently build flows and wireframes for complex computer applications.
