Fitch Ratings is currently seeking an Associate Director or Director based out of our Chicago office. The role is global, with a preferred location in Chicago or New York.

Aims to increase Fitch's rating participation by:
Creating new criteria
Elevating the group's voice through research
Proactively engaging with market participants, including investors, bankers, and issuers
How You'll Make an Impact:
Assign and monitor ratings for structured finance transactions in new and developing sectors, focusing on digital infrastructure:
Wireless towers
Fiber infrastructure
Data centers
Cover additional sectors within the Global Cross Sector (GCS) group, including:
Energy
Transportation
Royalty streams
Alternative assets
Private credit structured transactions
Responsibilities include:
Leading the rating process for new debt issuance
Reviewing the group's existing portfolio within various asset classes
Supporting the group's external engagement efforts by publishing market commentary and research
Developing new ratings criteria within the group
Analyze critical credit, legal, and structural elements of new and complex structured finance transaction structures
Produce quality internal and external written reports, including credit committees, criteria, special reports, and market commentary
Communicate Fitch rating methodology and criteria to issuers and investors
Conduct interviews with sponsor management teams and external consultants
Lead and/or support research projects
Maintain assigned rating relationships
You May be a Good Fit if:
You hold a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related quantitative field
A relevant master's degree is advantageous
You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
You possess strong analytical thinking abilities
You demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and time management skills
You are highly proficient in Excel
Familiarity with structured finance is beneficial
You have 5-8 years of relevant professional experience
You exhibit strong quantitative and analytical skills, along with proficiency in Excel and Word
Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills are essential
You can showcase skills that enable immediate support for various transactions both in the US and globally
You are willing and able to travel when necessary

Previous exposure to credit rating analysis, reviewing legal documents, or financial modeling is a plus
Industry experience related to digital infrastructure or royalties

FOR CHICAGO: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $170,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch's total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
