About College-Conservatory of Music (CCM)
With roots dating to 1867, CCM is a nationally prominent college within UC that provides a unique and exciting ecosystem of high-level programs in Acting, Composition, Conducting, Dance, Media Production, Music Education, Music Performance, Music Theory, Musical Theater, Musicology, Opera, Theatre Design and Production, and General Studies. CCM enrolls more than 1300 students and offers nearly 120 different majors across ten degree types at the undergraduate, graduate and professional certification levels. CCM values excellence in teaching, innovation in curriculum, and the ability to connect with students seeking to explore a range of opportunities and careers in a rapidly changing marketplace.
This is a full-time, visiting appointment on an academic year (nine-month) service basis paid over twelve months, carrying an initial appointment of a one (1) year contract with potential for a one (1) year renewal based on performance. The expected start date is August 15, 2025. Work authorization sponsorship is not available for this position.
Duties include teaching, academic advising, BFA & MFA recruitment, participation in production related meetings, and department/division faculty meetings. Teaching responsibilities include three classes per semester in costume production from introductory level to advanced. Class subjects such as, but not limited to: Basic and Advanced Construction, Patterning/Draping, Tailoring, and Lab Courses.
Conduct and teach assigned undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses and seminars.
Attend meetings, participate in governance, prepare materials for teaching.
Recruit BFA & MFA students.
Serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework.
Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
Render service to the professional or lay community which is relevant to the individual's academic specialty.
Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
Other related duties as assigned.
MFA in Costume Technology or equivalent terminal degree in Theatre or related field
