Research Navigator


Posting Summary:

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences is seeking a Research Navigator. This position will play a key role in supporting research efforts in support of the research mission of the department through support of a variety of research efforts, including but not limited to, clinical trials, observational studies, and qualitative research.


The Research Navigator will work closely with faculty, midwives, residents, and fellows to provide comprehensive research support, including study design, data analysis, grant writing, and manuscript preparation. This position will also help navigate the complexities of Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes and research compliance.


Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):

Bachelor's degree in statistics, public health, or a related field and three to five years' related experience required.


Demonstrated expertise in biostatistics and statistics for quality improvement, patient safety, health services, clinical, and/or educational research.


Familiarity with survey development, design and analyses. Proficiency with clinical data access and
statistical software.


Effective interpersonal skills, time management and organizational skills.


Effective written and verbal communication skills.


Proficiency with databases, spreadsheet, and word processing software applications.


Desirable Qualifications:

Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, or related field


Anticipated Pay Range:

$58,000 - $62,000


Other Information:

The office for this position will be at UVMMC.


Special Conditions:

Bargaining unit position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required, Contingent on continued funding, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
