What to Expect


The Quality Engineer is responsible for managing QA activities for complex enhancements and projects that cover a wide range of technologies and interdependencies between platforms. Support, coordinate, and interface with program and project managers, technical leads, vendors and business to support project/SCR dependences and QA related activities as needed on a program, portfolio or project level.


What You Will Do


1. Provide guidance with program and project managers, technical leads and business to support QA related activities/tasks as needed on program, portfolio or project level. Review functional and technical documentation in order to identify requirements for the creation of test plans, test cases and test scripts; Conduct test case reviews to ensure scenarios accurately capture business functionality.

2. Develop, implement, and enforce Quality Assurance documentation: test plans, scripts, cases, and results that support quality and change management requirements.

3. Support QA Management in upward stakeholder and day-to-day management of the overall Quality Assurance & Testing organization. Provide Quality assurance reporting and analysis. Support ongoing test quality improvement efforts including test environment management and test strategy efforts.

4. Manage resource needs by contracting with vendors to help ensure quality and efficiency for enhancement and project implementations. Support budget planning, vendor agreement and invoicing activities.

5. Manage, plan and provide technical guidance on the automation scripts for regression and performance testing. Recommend best practices to improve automation.



Qualifications




What You Will Bring


• Minimum 5-7 years progressive experience

• Experience working with shared services vendor with presence in offshore locations

• Experience with resource planning and budgeting

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field.

• Quality accreditation (ASTQB or equivalent)

• Familiarity with multiple development methodologies including waterfall and Agile/Scrum or Extreme Programming methodologies.

• Strong skills with the Microsoft Office product suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Demonstrates good coping skills and analytical problem-solving skills

• Strong organizational skills, planning skills and must work effectively within teams

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

• Knowledge of HP Quality Center, Load Runner, UFT or related testing automation tools

• Ability to write and modify SQL scripting



Work Environment


Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.
