We are seeking a dedicated and organized File Clerk to join our prestigious law firm in San Francisco. As a File Clerk, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our legal documents and records to ensure the smooth operation of our firm. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities:
Organize and maintain legal documents, including case files, court documents, and correspondence, in accordance with established filing systems.
Retrieve and deliver files and documents as requested by attorneys and staff members in a timely and efficient manner.
Conduct data entry and ensure the accuracy and completeness of information in the firm's database and record-keeping systems.
Update and manage the firm's filing system to ensure that all documents are current, properly labeled, and easily accessible.
Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and assisting with document production when necessary.
Adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines and protocols to maintain the security and privacy of sensitive legal information.
Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other team members to facilitate the efficient flow of information and documents within the firm.
Ensure compliance with all legal procedures and regulations governing the handling and management of legal documents and records.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in office administration is a plus.
Previous experience working in a legal environment or similar role is preferred.
Proficiency in computer systems and data entry, with knowledge of Microsoft Office and document management software.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures is advantageous but not required.
