Directs and coordinates activities of the Supply Chain Tactical Operations Group to meet customer requirements by ensuring the supply of forecasts and capacity plans, accurate and timely production schedules, accurate and timely inventory control, and accurate and timely replenishment of direct material to the production lines, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plans, directs and coordinates activities of personnel in the Supply Chain Tactical Operations department.
Ensures subordinate leaders and their employees receive appropriate training/coaching to meet and exceed job expectations.
Identifies recruits and develops employees as future leaders.
Works closely with Operations to produce accurate capacity plans.
Recommends re-allocation of resources to allow more optimized production capability - level loading, shift alterations, factory assignments.
Applies appropriate statistical methods when estimating future materials requirements.
Identifies opportunities for inventory reduction and recommends disposition of excess and obsolete inventory.
Oversees inventory accuracy, including the cycle count and physical inventory processes.
Assists with the coordination and implementation of engineering and material changes, the development and maintenance of master schedule for firm and forecasted business, and the analysis for future production requirements.
This may include workforce planning strategies to develop recommendations to ensure that machine load and workforce can meet the production requirements for the department, including maintaining and planning kanbans, calculating kanban quantities or MRP generated requirements.
Serves as the liaison between the Company, customers, and suppliers to resolve receiving and invoicing issues, facilitate resolution of quality issues, and perform all operations according to appropriate government regulations and Company policies and procedures.
Directs investigations into causes of customer or supplier complaints and responds accordingly.
Establishes and continuously reviews procedures, training, and application systems interfaces; develops performance measures, monitors performance and recommends improvements - for inventory control, material planning, and production control.
Develops cost savings and cost reduction programs. Implements and maintains meaningful metrics to measure the performance of all three areas.
Develops, maintains, and continuously advances planning and implementation procedures for the organization.
These actions should represent best practice procedures for the resources available now, but should also be scalable to the larger organization that we are becoming.
Recommends departmental operational budget and approves requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies within limits of department budget.
Reviews and analyzes expenditure, financial, and operations reports to determine need for increased efficiencies, schedule changes, reallocation of priorities, etc.
Reviews and approves weekly Department Expense Reports.
Provides positive and negative feedback to employees verbally and in writing.
Documents feedback through Confirmation of Conversations (COC). Conducts or participates in annual performance reviews for employees.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsible for leading SC Tactical Operations, including Production Control, Material Planning, Tactical Purchasing and Inventory Control.
Assesses, coaches and develops personnel.
Actively coaches and leads direct reports in developing Supply Chain professional skills to better enable advancement and knowledge.
Must possess strong leadership qualifications, i.e. honesty, organizational skills, must be able to motivate people, and to take action to promote change.
The ability to listen and provide good follow up is essential.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Four (4) year college business degree or better
APICS Certification (CPIM) preferred
Minimum eight (8) year leadership experience with manufacturing company
Proficiency in MS Office
Understands and applies strategic planning practices to establish Supply Chain goals and design efficient, executable plans
Knows industry trends, economic outlooks
Knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques such as LEAN Production a plus
Language / Communication Skills
Excellent oral and written English language skills
Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels within the company
Mathematical Skills College level mathematical skills
