Position Overview The Audit Supervisor will oversee and manage audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients, including financial institutions, not-for-profit organizations, and educational institutions. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with auditing standards and delivering high-quality audit services while fostering teamwork and professional development within the audit team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage audit engagements from planning to completion.
Supervise and mentor junior audit staff, providing training and performance feedback.
Review audit work papers and financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and industry-specific accounting policies.
Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide insights on audit findings.
Develop audit plans and strategies tailored to specific client requirements, particularly for financial institutions and investment partnerships.
Ensure audits are performed efficiently and within deadlines, maintaining high standards of quality.
Stay updated on changes in auditing standards and regulations, particularly those affecting SEC registrants and registered investment companies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA credential preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting or auditing, with a focus on financial institutions and not-for-profit organizations.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, auditing procedures, and industry-specific accounting policies.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on efficiency in audit processes.
Strong documentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience working with a diverse client base, including colleges/universities, private schools, and foundations.
