Job Title: Biobank Laboratory TechnicianCompany Background: Chronicle Bio is a data-driven healthcare platform that harnesses comprehensive biobanks and advanced AI to transform the diagnosis, management, and treatment of chronic illnesses globally. We are building the world's largest specialty-focused biobank and registry to drive innovation in chronic condition diagnostics and therapies.Position Overview: The Biobank Laboratory Technician will play a critical role in the management and handling of biospecimens, including receiving, processing, and storage. They will coordinate kits, manage logistics for specimen transport, maintain accurate tracking records within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and collaborate closely with internal and external teams. This role will also contribute to the creation and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs), support onboarding activities at partner clinics, and coordinate with assay partners for sample analysis and data management. The Biobank Laboratory Technician will report directly to the Clinical Trial and Lab Services Manager.Key Responsibilities:Biospecimen Processing: Receive, process, and store biospecimens following established protocols to ensure sample integrity.Kits & Logistics: Prepare specimen collection kits, oversee logistics and shipment of biospecimens to and from partner clinics and assay partners.Biobanking & LIMS Tracking: Accurately track and manage biospecimens using our LIMS, ensuring up-to-date, reliable records. Maintain the LIMS system and update it with new studies and ensure it remains audit-ready.Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Assist in the development, documentation, and revision of laboratory SOPs to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.Partner Clinic Coordination: Support onboarding and training for coordinators at partner clinics, ensuring clear understanding of specimen collection, handling, and shipping protocols.Assay Partner Management: Coordinate with assay partners to facilitate timely and accurate sample analysis, troubleshoot issues, and support data management and reporting activities.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Laboratory Science, or related discipline.1-3 years experience in a laboratory setting, particularly with biospecimen handling, logistics, and LIMS management.Experience creating or revising SOPs.Familiarity with biobanking practices and clinical research processes preferred.Required Skills:Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple teams and external partners.Attention to detail and high standards for accuracy and data integrity.Ability to troubleshoot problems and identify proactive solutions.Proficiency in using laboratory software systems (LIMS).Physical Requirements:Ability to work comfortably in a laboratory environment, handling biospecimens according to safety guidelines.Ability to occasionally lift items up to 25 pounds and handle laboratory materials safely.Work Environment:This role is primarily laboratory-based with some administrative responsibilities.Occasional travel to partner clinic sites may be required for training or onboarding activities.
