KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – LEAD - FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY ASSURANCE
Oversees processes and team members to conduct quality assurance testing.
Oversees team members to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed.
Responsible for training of team members.
Communicating with the appropriate channels when issues arise, aid in the facilitating of production issues.
Ensure accuracy and efficiency in QA testing and record keeping.
Assists with investigations related to quality, food safety, and audit findings.
Responsible for supervising programs in the absence of the QA supervisor.
Working with their team and with others in the organization to deploy updates and resolve issues that arise during the QA process.
Support pre-op functions.
Carrying out other support functions and activities as required.
Facilitate X-ray New item set ups and Equipment calibrations.
Covering food safety and quality responsibilities in the absence of the Quality Assurance Pre-op Supervisor.
Coaches QA techs and sanitors during pre-op inspections to ensure that policy and procedures are done correctly.
Apply problem solving skills to create preventative actions for any issues relative to pre- op.
Carrying out other support functions and activities as required.
Audit programs to ensure they are being followed and are effective.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS – LEAD - FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY ASSURANCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Two years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food industry, Quality assurance.
Ability to build strong relationships, work well with others, and problem solve.
Ability to read and interpret Laboratory instructions and procedure manuals.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be committed to company values.
Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP and GFSI or other manufacturing quality programs.
Experience in implementation and auditing of Quality Assurance programs
Must be trained in chemical usage and hazard communication.
Knowledge of GMP's, USDA, and OSHA regulations and BRC requirements.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends.
Must be able to work in 36-40-degree temperature facility.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
