SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated, skilled Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team at Jamco Products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating and programming laser machines to produce precision parts. The Laser Operator will be responsible for creating and optimizing laser cutting programs, ensuring high-quality production output, and maintaining the efficiency of the laser cutting process. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must be able to measure and interpret precision measuring tools.
• Math, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and computer skills.
• Develop, test, and optimize laser cutting programs for laser machines.
• Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to create accurate cutting paths.
• Select appropriate cutting parameters (speed, power, assist gas) based on material type and thickness.
• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of laser machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to improve product manufacturability.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety and quality standards.
• Document and track production data, including material usage and machine efficiency.
• Train and assist other team members in the operation of laser equipment as needed.
• Continuously seek improvements in processes and techniques to enhance productivity and quality.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience operating sit-down forklift
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience operating and programming laser machines.
• Proficient in ABE Planner Nesting Software by Amada and other relevant programming tools.
• Strong understanding of laser cutting technology, materials, and fabrication processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to work 10-hour days.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, stoop, pull, push, assemble, and carry for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly.
• Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with an assist.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Ability to perform in a manufacturing environment that may have high noise levels, dust, chemicals, oil, and grease. Ability to work in an environment that may be hot, cold, or humid.
