Position Title: Grader Operator
Location: Amsterdam, NY

Position Description:

Salary Range:

$17.50-28.00 per hour


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Operates construction, excavation, hauling, and maintenance equipment including but not limited to backhoes, front-end loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, or grade tractors.
  • Operates equipment for pavement preservation work.
  • Inspects and equipment prior to and at the end of shift.
  • May perform routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Position Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 2+ years in Construction/Paving industry preferred
  • Must have valid driver’s license, driving is an essential function of the job. License must comply with Fleet Safety Program
  • OSHA certification (must obtain prior to beginning work assignment)
  • Must be willing and able to travel out of town and state possibly for long periods of time
  • Team-spirited attitude to get the job done
  • Desire to learn and to embrace input from trainers/supervisors
  • Punctuality mandatory


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational school training or apprenticeship preferred.
  • On-the-job training offered.


Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, touch/feel objects, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch/crawl, talk, see, hear and listen.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds (with assistance) and 50 pounds (without assistance).
  • While performing duties of this job, employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
