The Network Engineer is responsible for the daily operations, security, maintenance and configuration of all Routing, Switching, SDWAN and Wireless devices throughout the North American corporate network. In this role, you will partner with the Technical Services/Infrastructure group to ensure all mission-critical networking systems and applications are available and functioning at all times. This is a fully on-site position in Plymouth, MI.
You Will:
Manage a large LAN/WAN environment (1000+ devices) that includes deploying, configuring and maintaining Routers, Switches, APs, Wireless Controllers and SDWAN Appliances.
Troubleshoot all routing and switching issues that arise during day-to-day operations.
Oversee wireless networks, access points and controllers along with corresponding wireless Control/Management software.
Maintain the company-wide SDWAN environment.
Work with the Internal Security Team to perform regular security audits and take corrective action(s).
Handle tickets escalated from the Help Desk in a timely manner.
Coordinate activities with the users and development staff to effectively implement systems.
Review requests for changes to existing systems and resulting system modifications; monitor progress and verify system modifications are complete.
Partner with the IT Department and other functional units to research, define, and implement new technologies.
You Have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.
Prior internship or co-op experience, with a demonstrated interest in Network Engineering.
Working knowledge of Cisco IOS/ISO-XE, Network Management and Analysis Tools, Security Technologies, and Wireless Technologies
Cisco CCNA or CCNP preferred.
