What You’ll Do:

The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, implement and maintain consistent and reliable accounting policies and procedures to prevent accounting and financial reporting misstatement risks from developing by working closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization;
  • Develop accounting policies for new product development, reviewing nonrecurring and significant transactions, and other initiatives of the Bank to support growth, ensure correct accounting, and maintain high quality financial reporting;
  • Consult with deal teams and senior management on technical accounting matters and the application and development of accounting policies. Ensure all new products and services are U.S. GAAP complaint;
  • Research, evaluate and document accounting positions in accordance with US GAAP or other relevant accounting guidance;
  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support in their professional development
  • Lead the implementation of new and emerging accounting standards
  • Monitor current accounting and regulatory reporting developments and provide updates to senior management on the impact that new developments may have on the organization;
  • Provide support to SEC and Regulatory reporting teams with review of key disclosures and interpretation of new accounting guidance and rules; and
  • Provide training to management and staff on accounting policies

What Do You Need?

  • 7+ years of experience in public accounting and or corporate technical accounting, with a strong focus on US GAAP and SEC Reporting experience;
  • Must be a CPA;
  • An undergraduate degree from accredited University in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience;
  • Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and SEC Reporting rules;
  • Proven ability to design and implement new policies;
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of mentoring and developing team members
  • Strong attention to detail and can analyze information quickly;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain cross-functional working relationships

Technology Skills:

  • Ability to work with the Microsoft Suite and learn/work with other Customers Bank’s applications
