Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated Intermediate Systems Administrator to support and enhance system operations within a dynamic and collaborative environment. This role is responsible for overseeing system administration activities, managing project assignments, and evaluating performance to ensure operational efficiency. The Systems Administrator will play a key role in the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of software systems while implementing enhancements to optimize reliability and performance. Compensation Minimum: $70,000
Compensation Maximum: $85,000
Job Requirements:
Skills / Experience Required
Systems Administrator Intermediate skills/experience required:
Active Secret clearance required
3-5 years of experience in systems administration preferred
Install, configure, and maintain servers, hardware, peripherals, storage, and directories in alignment with operational requirements
Install and configure systems supporting GIS infrastructure applications and asset management solutions
Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures to ensure system stability and efficiency
Contribute to and uphold system standards, ensuring compliance with organizational policies
Research and recommend innovative, automated approaches for system administration to optimize resources and improve scalability
Perform daily system monitoring to verify hardware, server resources, system processes, and application functionality
Review system and application logs, ensuring the successful completion of scheduled tasks such as backups
Conduct regular security monitoring to detect and address potential intrusions
Perform daily backup operations, ensuring data integrity and proper media management for off-site storage
Manage user accounts, including creation, modification, and deletion as requested
Provide Tier III support, troubleshooting technical issues, and resolving system failures efficiently
Diagnose, repair, and recover from hardware or software malfunctions while coordinating with affected stakeholders
Apply operating system patches, upgrades, and administrative tool updates as part of routine maintenance
Configure and integrate new services as needed to enhance system functionality
Maintain operational documentation, configuration records, and procedural guidelines
Conduct periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning and infrastructure optimization
Perform ongoing system performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource allocation adjustments
Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions to optimize system performance
Monitor and maintain data center environmental controls and infrastructure
Education / Certifications
Bachelor's degree, preferred (computer science, information technology, or have equivalent experience)
Cloud+ or GICSP or SSCP or Security+ or GSEC

Physical Requirements
