Job Summary The University of Kentucky, College of Nursing is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to expand and resource the MSN and DNP programs. This position offers the opportunity to engage in teaching, advising, mentoring, and leadership, contributing to the continued growth and success of our graduate programs. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for nursing education and scholarly practice while supporting the development of Family Nurse Practitioners. The role will include responsibilities related to educational activities, research, clinical practice, and service to the University, fostering a collaborative environment for students, faculty, and staff. This position requires an individual to provide teaching, advising/mentoring, and leadership for the College and University while building scholarly practice related to the practice paradigm. The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing development and expansion of the MSN/DNP programs, specifically supporting the education of Family Nurse Practitioners. This will be a position with a 12-month appointment and an anticipated Distribution of Effort of approximately 50-70% Teaching and Advising, 0-20% Clinical Practice Activities, 15-20% Research and Scholarly Activities, and 10% Service and Professional Development. This position is based in Lexington, KY, and would be an onsite position. We anticipate a start date on July 1, 2025, but no later than August 1, 2025.

This Special Title Series role’s key responsibilities will include: 1) Design, implement, and evaluate assigned didactic and clinical courses in the College’s graduate programs through recognized curriculum processes; 2) Plan and evaluate student clinical experiences; 3) Advise students in the MSN/DNP programs, providing guidance and mentorship 4) Guide DNP students’ projects and/or serve on advisory committees, depending on background and expertise; 5) Attend faculty and course meetings to ensure program alignment and student success; 6) Actively contribute to the College of Nursing scholarly activities; 7) Develop and advance a program of scholarship in nursing and healthcare; 8) Submit manuscripts for publication and present scholarly work in peer reviewed venues; 9) Lead investigations in Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), Quality Improvement (QI), or policy initiatives; 10) Seek funding opportunities to support scholarly endeavors; 11) Provide clinical services, as required for certification which may be inside or external to workload; 12) Participate as an active interprofessional team member and lead projects; 13) Collaborate with UK Healthcare nursing administrators to delineate nursing practice roles and standards as an APRN to improve care for patients and families; 14) Participate in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based programs and staff education; 15) Mentor staff in planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based practice projects in nursing. 16) Serve on college and/or university committees as appropriate; and 17) Contribute to interprofessional advisory boards and committees focused on developing policy and setting priorities for nursing services as opportunities arise.
