As a Lead Material Handler at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will play a pivotal role in our operations. Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate daily distribution activities, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
Lead and motivate the team to meet daily efficiency and quality objectives.
Resolve exceptions and problems to maintain high accuracy levels.
Ensure appropriate staffing levels in coordination with the Supervisor.
Direct workflow and provide instructions when the Supervisor is unavailable.
Train new hires and temporary employees on standard operating procedures and equipment usage.
Promote and maintain a safe, injury-free work environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
General warehouse experience preferred.
Willingness to acquire forklift certification and experience operating powered industrial trucks.
Proficiency with computers and scanning equipment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and solve problems.
Physical capability to stand and move frequently, including walking, bending, and reaching.
Reliable and predictable attendance is essential.
Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
Proficiency in reading and writing in English.
Ability to lift, carry, pull, and push up to 70 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally, with or without accommodation.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Illinois is $19.77-$29.66.
