Join Aegis Aerospace as a UHF Radio Receiver Design Support Engineer and play a key role in advancing next-generation space technology! We are looking for a talented engineer to support cutting-edge satellite communications at Lockheed Martin's Waterton Campus in Littleton, Colorado.
This hybrid position requires on-site work 4 days per week. The annual salary ranges from $85,000.00 to $115,000.00, based on experience, education, and relevant certifications. This full-time role is scheduled for a Period of Performance (POP) from April 2025 to September 2026.
Overview
This position supports the adaptation of existing GOES UHF radio systems for integration into the Geo-XO spacecraft in collaboration with the prime contractor. The engineer will contribute to Aegis' contract with Lockheed Martin (LM) at the Waterton Campus in Denver, CO, working alongside LM's team to modify, integrate, and test UHF radio system hardware using established design processes. Responsibilities include reviewing design products, analyzing test results, and effectively communicating findings to all stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Design and analyze adaptations of existing UHF radio designs from the legacy GOES spacecraft for integration into new systems.
Support the design and testing of the Evolved Packet Core (EPC) portion of the UHF receiver.
Develop test procedures to verify the COMM UHF receiver's functionality under various conditions, including launch, orbit, and operational phases.
Contribute to the overall unit test campaign and assist in test execution.
Develop internal plans to integrate UHF receiver hardware and software with other satellite systems for seamless operation.
Assist the internal ECAD team in translating schematics using Expedition software.
Provide surge support for specification reviews and preliminary subcontracting tasks.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must presently be a US Citizen
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college
Minimum of 5 years of experience in radio systems design beyond an academic environment
Extensive experience with EPC or heritage systems
Proficiency in layout and ECAD tools
Hands-on experience with Expedition software
Knowledge of radio frequency active and passive components
Familiarity with both RF active and passive systems
Strong technical problem-solving skills
Proven ability to collaborate effectively in team environments where communication is critical
Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of initiative
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with project managers, team leads, customers, and contract colleagues
Ability to earn and maintain the confidence and respect of customers and contract personnel through close collaboration
Sound professional judgment in setting objectives, milestones, and priorities
Dependable work ethic and commitment to project completion
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Master's Degree in an Engineering related discipline.
Experience working with government contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations and contractual requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat, with the ability to effectively utilize these tools for documentation, communication, and collaboration.
