Job Description

Thinking Minds Inc. is seeking a Lead Data Modeler for our client in the healthcare industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable data models that enhance business intelligence, analytics, and operational decision-making. This role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to work collaboratively with business leaders, data analysts, and IT teams to develop high-impact data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Data Modeling & Architecture

Develop and maintain logical and physical data models that support business intelligence, reporting, and analytics.

Design efficient, scalable data models to optimize business operations and support decision-making.

Build and manage data transformation pipelines within the enterprise data warehouse.

Ensure data models align with business needs and industry best practices.

Business Collaboration & Strategy

Partner with business leaders, data analysts, and IT teams to gather requirements and design data models that support analytics and operational decisions.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and define use cases.

Mentor junior team members and promote a culture of continuous learning.

Data Governance & Quality

Ensure compliance with data governance policies and industry standards, particularly in healthcare.

Develop data validation and cleansing processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to maintain privacy and security standards for sensitive healthcare data.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL development.

Proficiency in SQL, Python, Snowflake, and Git version control.

Experience working with healthcare data, claims payment systems, and reimbursement methodologies (Medicare & Medicaid).

Knowledge of Kimball Modeling, normalization, and hybrid modeling methods.

Strong skills in Power BI, SQL Developer, and query tools like BusinessObjects and MedInsight.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional certification in Data Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.

Experience with insurance industry regulations and healthcare market rules.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
