Basic Job Functions:



The Material Handling Day Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the detailed operations of the shipping team while driving operational and commercial excellence. This role supports our mission to serve customers by continuously improving safety, efficiency, environmental performance, quality, costs, productivity, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:

• Foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement in alignment with Nucor's values.
• Establish clear expectations and implement best practices that empower the team to achieve results.
• Serve as a resource for team development, fostering personal growth and expanding technical knowledge.
• Develop and execute a strategic plan for Material Handling, focusing on expanding capabilities and driving continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and housekeeping policies, procedures, and standards.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Qualifications:



• Minimum three years leadership experience




Preferred Qualifications:



• Experience in all three shipping modes: rail, truck and barge
• Experience shipping plate material
