What You’ll Get to Do

The Controls Engineer is focused on improving existing and commission new metal processing equipment and processes and reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

This role is perfect for an individual who is hands on, leader, with great communication skills.  A vital member of the Manufacturing Engineering Team, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

 

Job responsibilities include:

• Assist in commissioning new equipment and in performing upgrades/retrofits to existing equipment.


• Provide troubleshooting support to the process maintenance team as needed.


• Investigate, identify, and devise solutions in areas including but not limited to
  
  
  
  • Equipment safety functions
  
  
  • Reduce downtime, increase product quality, and improve process throughput.
  
  
  • Recurring process issues
  
  
  • Machine alarming and fault indication
  
  
  
  


• Leverage existing or create historical data points in order to highlight process weak points and possible improvements.

 

What We Are Looking For

• 5+ Years of experience working as a controls engineer or in a similar equivalent position.


• Bachelor of Science in electrical, mechanical, industrial, other relevant fields of study OR equivalent work experience.

• Working knowledge of industrial control system platforms including Allen Bradley PLC, HMI, VFD, and other control component configuration.


• Working knowledge of current relevant industry design standards and codes such as NFPA, ANSI, ISO, etc.
