A job with Student Life Marketing provides students the opportunity to work in an agency-like atmosphere where creative problem-solving and collaboration with colleagues lead to the development of effective strategies to build awareness, engagement, and action from target audiences. All Student Life Marketing staff will contribute to the creation, implementation, and assessment of various marketing and communications initiatives to promote the Office of Student Life and its 30+ departments.
Job Summary
The Part-Time Student Multimedia Videographer plays a key role in creating professional-quality video content, with a primary focus on short-form, vertical videos for Instagram Reels. This position requires a strong eye for storytelling, technical skills in video production, and the ability to adapt content for various platforms. The Multimedia Videographer will create videos for the Indiana Memorial Union, Student Health Center, IU Housing, and many more departments within the Office of Student Life.
Department -Specific Responsibilities
Brainstorms, storyboards, films, and edits professional-quality videos, primarily for Instagram Reels.
Captures high-quality footage using DSLR cameras and occasionally smartphones for social media content.
Edits video footage in Adobe Premiere Pro, enhance graphics in Adobe After Effects, and incorporate sound design, effects, and music.
Covers major university events, departmental activities, and marketing campaign shoots.
Works on additional video projects, such as short-form documentaries and campus tours.
Collaborates with the marketing team and campus partners to develop engaging, high-impact content.
Adapts content for various formats, including vertical and horizontal videos, based on audience and platform needs.
Participates in marketing meetings, critiques, and brainstorming sessions.

EDUCATION
Required
Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
Experience editing videos in Adobe Premiere Pro
Experience editing photos in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
Experience capturing video using DSLR cameras, with knowledge of lighting and audio recording
Preferred
Extensive experience filming events in various shooting environments
Experience creating interactive graphics using Adobe After Effects
Experience in shooting and editing still photography

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
