JustinBradley's client, a leading source of mortgage financing, is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Automation Engineer to join their Workflow Automation team in designing, developing, and implementing a modern job scheduling and orchestration solution. This role involves supporting the target state architecture and transitioning from a legacy Autosys COTS product to AWS Native Services, including Managed Workflow for Apache Airflow, AWS Step Function, AWS Batch, and AWS EventBridge, while enhancing user experience through intuitive and efficient interfaces. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in scheduling and orchestration products, experience in cloud-native technologies, and front-end development expertise to deliver a seamless UX for end-users. 24/7 on-call support is required.
In this role, you will:
Supporting testing, development, and production operations (24/7 on-call) for the scheduling and orchestration platform.
Collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements and create a target state architecture for job scheduling and orchestration.
Creating error-handling mechanisms, monitoring solutions, and operational dashboards.
Developing reference implementations for Apache Airflow, AWS Step Function, AWS EventBridge, and AWS Lambda.
Documenting use cases, system design, reference implementations/patterns, and migration plans.
Conducting proof-of-concepts and assisting customers with implementation.
Planning and executing the migration of Autosys jobs to AWS Native solutions.
Building and enhancing user interfaces for Workflow Automation products to ensure a streamlined, intuitive user experience.
Optimizing workflows and UX designs for performance, usability, and scalability.
All About You:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in software engineering, automation, or cloud development.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, and Node.js.
Hands-on experience with AWS services, including Apache Airflow, AWS Step Function, and AWS EventBridge.
Strong knowledge of Autosys and experience migrating workflows to modern platforms.
Strong front-end development skills using frameworks like React.js, Angular, or Vue.js.
Familiarity with UX design principles, wireframing, and usability testing.
Experience with API development and integration.
Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, GitLab).
Deep understanding of AWS architecture and best practices, including IAM, security policies, and serverless computing (AWS Lambda).
AWS Certified Developer certification preferred.
AWS Certified Solutions Architect is a plus.
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
