GForce Arms, Inc. is a rapidly growing firearms and accessories company. GForce is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our team. The Design Engineer will play a critical role in designing and improving existing designs of high-quality firearms, components, and systems essential to our product line. This position requires a creative and strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, a good understanding of firearms, proficiency in design software, and a commitment to compliance with all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will contribute to innovative product development and improvement, performance optimization, and manufacturing feasibility while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. For the right candidate, we will offer a relocation package.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Design & Product Improvement Engineer will design, revise existing designs, create solid models, detail components, and support the development of new firearms and accessories, as well as the improvement of existing models.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide engineering support for firearms product design and development of new products, line extensions, and product improvements. Specific responsibilities will include the generation and revision of CAD drawings and models, component inspection, prototype build and product testing.
  • Utilize best practices, including DFM, DFA, stack analysis, etc. and interface with manufacturing, process engineering, vendors, etc. to ensure designs are optimized for cost, quality, and performance.
  • Manage bills of material and track component status.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team and other Kimber functional areas to ensure that projects are completed on budget and in a timely manner.
  • Other responsibilities may include writing technical reports, creation of design spreadsheets, statistical analysis of test data and management presentations.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to identify, communicate, and drive implementation of assembly improvements for new and current designs and to ensure on time delivery new products and improve first pass yield.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Must have working knowledge of MS Office applications. Knowledge of statistics and statistical software a plus.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills: Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team, but also able to work independently. Good communication skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Metal Injection Molding a plus
  • Experience with CNC Machining a plus
  • Experience with steel stampings a plus
  • Experience with plastic molding a plus
  • Experience with firearms is a plus
