Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Manufacturing Engineer at FabTech-IGM. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for overseeing manufacturing processes, optimizing efficiency, and improving productivity. They will work closely with the production team to develop and implement manufacturing strategies, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure quality standards are met. The Manufacturing Engineer will also collaborate with design teams to improve part manufacturability and reduce time-to-market.
Responsibilities
Design and implement manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for new products
Create/modify bills of material, routers, work instructions and material handling procedures. Initiate tooling requests as required. Ensure optimum blank and turret utilization. Design fixtures and jigs as needed.
Optimize existing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality. Determine appropriate equipment for the safe and efficient processing of work.
Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products
Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow charts, and standard operating procedures
Conduct time studies and capacity analysis to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions for increased productivity. Participate in Kaizen events.
Respond to engineering needs of the Value Stream Teams. Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support to resolve manufacturing problems
Utilize Lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and eliminate waste
Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate new materials, equipment, and technologies for improved manufacturing capabilities
Identify areas to improve Safety, Quality and Productivity
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in manufacturing technology
Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing processes, including machining and assembly
Strong knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant tools
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in the gaming, heavy equipment, or medical device industry is a plus
Minimum five (5) years experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
Strong organizational skills
Preferred
Experience working with sheet metal
Computer literacy including proficiency with FabriWin and SolidWorks software
Process Engineering in a Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
Bilingual English/ Spanish
