The Mechanical Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency and optimization of our manufacturing processes. This dynamic position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, implementing production strategies, and leveraging engineering expertise to enhance overall production performance. Primary Functions:
Perform engineering design calculations
Interpret specifications (industry, product, or customer) and convert requirements into final designs with minimal supervision.
Draw, organize, and document existing parts.
Build and maintain part, drawing, and assembly libraries to expedite workflow.
Support sales and applications with quoting special valve components and assemblies.
Create part and/or installation drawings to meet customer specifications.
Generate BOM's, parts lists, and user manuals
Maintain data within Syteline ERP system
Evaluate products and collect performance data through onsite testing.
Work closely with other departments on design for manufacturing.
Assist with continuous improvement projects for the manufacturing facility.
Participate in cross functional project teams.
Learn and share best practices with other team members.
Document new drafting and file management processes.
Primary Competencies:
5+ years of SolidWorks experience (SolidWorks PDM preferred)
Experience building design tables and component libraries is an asset
A general understanding of manufacturing processes (casting, machining, welding, etc.)
Ability to learn and work within company's Syteline ERP system is required.
Working knowledge of Word and Excel
Familiarity with various drafting standards.
Must have a basic understanding of material properties.
Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and a willingness to help others.
Experiencing selecting mechanical components based on force, torque, pressure, etc.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of five years' experience
Experience in designing and testing engineered industrial products is preferred
Experience working with ASME valve, piping, or pressure vessel design codes and calculations is preferred
Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job such as:
Safely navigating a manufacturing environment
Extended periods of sitting and using a computer
Occasional bending and stooping
Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
