Job Description:

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Plans, directs, and controls the production operation for manufacturing delivery requirements, quality standards and within cost targets.
  • Maintains effective planning and management of manufacturing operations to ensure that products are produced on time and consistent with quality standards.
  • Ensures selection, development, and motivation of a competent operations team, organized effectively to ensure the maximum utilization of human resources.
  • Responsible for the cleaning and maintenance scheduling of the Manufacturing area.
  • Responsible for scheduling the manpower needed in every manufacturing area.
  • Logistic planning and analysis of production lead times.
  • Responsible for timekeeping system of production personnel.
  • Attend daily production meetings.
  • Make sure equipment is properly running and PMs are done.
  • Hands on capability to help specify and monitor equipment fixtures jigs, and tools needed to optimize the manufacturing process.
  • Responsible for enforcing SOPs.
  • Reviews and modifies existing equipment and production methods to reduce manufacturing costs to improve operating efficiency.
  • Ensures long-range planning and review of manufacturing operations to ensure that production meets the strategic goals and objectives of business.
  • Develops and implements effective quality control programs to ensure that quality standards and objectives are met.
  • Contributes to the short and long-range growth and profitability of the business unit.
  • Contributes to the establishment and maintenance of company's image through vendor, customer and community contacts.
  • Assumes responsibility for new product and/or process introduction.
  • Adheres to the Company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics Standards.
  • Responsible for Manufacturing KPI's
  • Works hand in hand with Planning and Packaging departments.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or Technical degree.
  • 10 + years' experience managing teams of people in a high volume Nutraceutical/Pharmaceutical manufacturing plant
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies and environment
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish- required
  • Strong communication skills

  • Metrics reporting
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Experience using ERP and work order transaction systems to control shop floor scheduling and inventory.
  • Ability to work under pressure

Physical Requirements:

Handle loads up to 10 lbs., sometimes up to 20 lbs. A lot of walking or standing, bending, squatting or you might stand to use your arms to set up machines, equipment or tools.. Seeing clearly at a distance and up close. Speaking clearly enough to be able to be understood by others. Identifying and understanding the speech of another person.

Typical Work Conditions:

Work in this position requires being inside most of the time. Person will be subject to food and nutritional bulk ingredients, which may affect the respiratory system or the skin, including an environment subject to odors, dust or airborne allergens.

Person will be working in a dry and low moisture environment and be exposed to normal work hazards, including a variety of physical conditions such as a proximity to moving mechanical parts.

Exposure to noise.
