Solar Atmospheres of California is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Southern California who enjoys being a road warrior and finding right-fit customers needing a trusted heat treating partner by utilizing their relationships with machine shops in the region. Heavy travel is involved Monday-Friday and you may be away for a week at a time, but a company car, credit card, and phone will be provided.
What you'll do
As a Sales Representative at Solar Atmospheres, you'll be out on the road, using a customer-first approach to visit, call, and follow up with prospects who will benefit from a partnership with us. Unlike some sales positions, our leads and opportunities are endless. 95% of our business supports the aerospace and space industries so there are a lot of direct and indirect companies that we can connect with that make parts within the industry, all of which need to be heat treated for durability purposes, which is where we come in!
The area you cover and companies you meet with will vary daily but day to day you can expect to do the following:
Visit multiple prospects and customers a day to build relationships and pitch our services
Call and follow up with our high volume of prospects and inbound leads
Plan weekly travel schedules and coordinate flights/hotels needed
Utilize HubSpot to maintain accurate records of prospecting/customer activities
Provide daily reports to the Director of Sales on activities
Network and participate at trade shows/conferences throughout the territory
What you need to thrive in this role
10+ years of heat treating or Aerospace Metal Service Center sales background with connections to and relationships with machine shops throughout the Western Region (CA, OR, WA, UT, AZ, NV, CO) required
Comfortability with extensive travel throughout the western region, including overnights
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems required
General knowledge of metallurgy and heat treatment of multiple types of materials preferred
Results-oriented, motivated, and the ability to work independently
Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and complete tasks with little supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Valid driver's license and clean driving record, required (company vehicle provided!)
