Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an entry-level Engineer, Geologist or Environmental Scientist with 0-2 years' experience in engineering and/or hydrology to join our Oil and Gas Asset Integrity Team providing technical support, and client development opportunities associated with pipeline integrity and risk assessments. This position is based in Highlands Ranch, CO, Syracuse, NY, or Columbus, OH. Primary focus will be on pipeline integrity associated with natural forces (especially related to rivers).

As part of our Resilience Environment team, you'll help improve quality of life.

Role accountabilities:

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Performing general natural forces assessments on pipelines; potentially covering coastal, riverine, and land movement risks (but likely focusing on riverine risks).


  • Develop technical scopes of work and cost estimating for proposals on project opportunities.


  • Understand and adhere to client objectives and perform activities consistent with regulatory requirements.


  • Functioning on multidisciplinary teams across multiple time zones


  • Collaborating with multiple engineering disciplines, hydrologists, and geologists on relevant projects


  • Primarily office-based but ability to travel intermittently (15-25%) including sometimes for relatively rigorous field work

Responsibilities for this position include regular interaction with national and global project teams, making strong written and oral communication skills essential. The role requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong multitasking skills to meet schedule expectations, even under sometimes demanding conditions. An enthusiastic attitude and the ability to perform site and fieldwork in diverse regions and environments are critical for success. Additionally, strong technical writing and quantitative skills are vital to effectively support project deliverables and ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications


  • BS in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or closely related field


  • 0-2 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications


  • MS in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or closely related field


  • Relevant coursework in Hydrology, Fluvial Geomorphology and/or Rosgen training courses


  • Experience and relationships with Oil and Gas clients


  • 4 years of experience (including consulting experience)


  • 40-hour HAZWOPER


  • CPR and First Aid certification

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
