Purpose: 

Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a shipping department, ensuring timely and accurate product delivery, coordinating shipping schedules and activities, verifying packaging and labeling, maintaining shipping supplies and packaging inventory levels, and resolving any shipping issues that may arise. Supervise and train shipping personnel on proper packing, labeling, and shipping procedures. Monitor employee performance and provide feedback.

Address and resolve any employee concerns or issues related to shipping operations.

 

Responsibilities:

• Organizational skills: Efficiently prioritize tasks and manage workflows.
• Attention to detail: Ensure accuracy in all aspects of shipping processes.
• Problem-solving skills: Identify and resolve shipping related issues promptly.
• Communication skills: Clear and concise communication with team members, customers, and other departments.
• Basic computer skills: Proficiency in warehouse management systems and shipping software.
• Outstanding attendance and dependability.
• Ability to compile reports and create documentation using Microsoft office tools
• (Excel/Word) and/or PDF.
• Ability to effectively perform all other shipping functions such as managing
• Backlog and Scheduling activities, Freight Orders and Customer Invoicing.

 

Skills: 

• Dead lift 35 lbs or maneuver up to 50 lbs and manipulate items in excess of this using appropriate material handling equipment and or teamwork.
• Ability to operate / use forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, carts and standard material handling equipment.

Education and/or Experience:

• 5+ Years experience with shipping and inventory processes/systems within a warehouse environment.
