Responsible for designing and administering student programs and initiatives that offer support for student in crisis, facing adversity or challenges, demonstrating need for case management in mental health services, or belong to an under-represented student population. Initiatives and programs may be focused on multiple student populations, and focuses may include, student advocacy, case management, care coordination, community resource development, data gathering and reporting, marketing, and project management.
Department Specific Responsibilities
Interfaces directly with students, families, faculty, staff, funding sources, and community partners to assess and coordinate care management for mental health student needs beyond services provided through clinical mental health treatment.
Collaborates with staff in the Division of Student Engagement, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders, on shared student support goals. Data management and reporting responsibilities relative to grant project management, university policy compliance, and Indiana University 2030 strategic goals and outcomes.
Projects outcomes for support services offered through the Division of Student Engagement and the Office of Accessibility, Mental Health, and Wellbeing, relative to division and campus strategic goals, values, and mission.
Measures and evaluates effectiveness of student support initiatives against projected outcomes; regularly prepares reports to impact students and budget and program objectives and will present to stakeholders on effectiveness moving forward.
Serves on campus and community committees and performs student research and support across the field of higher education and at peer institutions to identify and recommend best practices.
Provides mentoring support to student interns engaged with mental health and wellness support across the Division of Student Engagement.
Serves as a direct liaison to intern supervisors to ensure that program initiatives are implemented effectively.

Places an emphasis on confidentiality of student concerns, university policy compliance, and a culture of care within all direct student interactions.
Collaborates with staff in own department and other departments, as well as academic and campus leaders, on shared student support goals, often coordinating funding to sponsor student programs and initiatives.

Measures and evaluates effectiveness of student support initiatives against projected outcomes; regularly prepares reports on impact to students and budget and may present to stakeholders on effectiveness and to secure funding for initiatives moving forward.

Plans and coordinates communications for student support initiatives to ensure student participation, inclusion, and engagement.
May provide guidance to other student support staff; makes process recommendations to manager for improved delivery of service.

EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor's degree in education, public affairs, public health, counseling, social work, business, or related field
Preferred
Master's degree in higher education student affairs, mental health and human services, public health, or social work

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
