The IUAA activates IU's powerful global network through live and virtual events, volunteer opportunities, scholarship programs, compelling IU content, and seriously fun traditions. Additionally, the association develops and supports volunteer leadership, serves as a voice for alumni as the university evolves, and provides lifelong learning opportunities.
Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Leads initiatives designed to increase alumni volunteer involvement and strengthen alumni connections with the university.
Designs and implements volunteer management strategies, trainings and best practices for individual alumni volunteer and board leadership development.
Collaborates with alumni engagement staff and development officers to deepen alumni relationships and connect them with relevant university resources.
Conducts research and analyzes data to recommend key market priorities consistent with IU advancement and institutional priorities.
Maintains team records and prepares reports including analysis of effectiveness of programs and activities within assigned portfolio.
Recruits, trains, and retains alumni volunteer leaders, encouraging their investment in Indiana University through time, talent, and financial resources.
Leads and supports alumni engagement efforts for a portfolio of assigned geographic markets.
Establishes effective budgets and timelines for market events and programs to better support volunteers leading programming across the country.
Supports geographic market scholarship programs.
Conducts limited travel to support signature IUAA events across the country.
Fosters the growth of the Individual Volunteer Program, working collaboratively with fellow staff to support, advertise, and analyze its effectiveness and future development.
Trains and stewards individual alumni volunteer leaders, encouraging their investment in Indiana University through time, talent, and financial resources.
Manages the Volunteer Opportunity Board which will be used to advertise volunteer opportunities to all alumni.
In alignment to Director of Market Engagement's vision, manages emergent individual volunteer programs and structures.
Works collaboratively with fellow IUAA staff and development officers to offer a robust menu of individual volunteer engagement opportunities across the university.
General Responsibilities
Plans, coordinates, and executes alumni volunteer projects, programs and events as a leader advisor for an assigned alumni group.
Identifies, recruits, and develops alumni to serve in key volunteer and leadership roles.
Collaborates with other university advancement officers to engage and cultivate alumni through various initiatives.
Conducts research and analyzes data to recommend key market priorities consistent with alumni association and institutional goals.
Develops best practice processes and systems for increasing alumni volunteer involvement and connection with the university.
Manages budgets; writes and edits publications and other communications.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
2 years in program development, volunteer engagement and cultivation, budget administration
Preferred
Experience in working in higher education advancement, specifically development or alumni engagement
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Possesses a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University

Ability to manage and lead a wide variety of individuals with varying backgrounds and perspectives
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Additional Information
This role requires limited travel, including overnight travel, by car or airplane. The person in this role will frequently attend events in the evening or on weekends.

This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.
Advertised Salary
$50,000 - $58,000 per year dependent upon experience
