WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Development Program Associate will work towards meeting the strategic priorities of the Global Markets and Regional Strategic Development Team by co-developing, implementing, and project-managing a range of strategies to help engage a growing portfolio of donors in several international and U.S. geographies. They will help drive the Division-wide objective to expand and diversify our donor pipeline. They will coordinate and collaborate across more than a dozen out-the-door fundraisers, the research team, and Leadership. They will manage, track, and report on key data related to the team scope and priorities. The Development Program Associate will perform independent assessment of key program data, which may include donor or gift information. They must have advanced knowledge of the systems and resources utilized by the team in order to provide programmatic support and coordinate communications related to the resources. They will have substantial contact with stakeholders and may serve as a liaison with partners. The Development Program Associate will keep up to date on market trends and best practices to improve effectiveness. They will serve as a resource to teams and stakeholders to communicate internally and externally, and help other team members (fundraisers and Leadership) to leverage donor engagement opportunities in several geographies. They will help improve efficiencies on distributing information across teams. They will work on a variety of engagement strategies that may include coordinating events and roundtables, and on communications and presentation material, and coordinating with research. They may provide program information to prospects and draft routine correspondence and acknowledgements. They will use the Conservancy's donor database (BBCRM) to update donor information and interactions, produce reports, and track work that is being planned and done to discover, engage, and cultivate donors. The Development Program Associate may be asked to take on additional duties to enhance the work of the team. Such duties may include, but are not limited to, training, developing documentation, and/or enhancing the systems and tools used by the team.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and collaboration skills and experience collating and presenting data in lists, updating information, and sharing it so it is useful to fundraisers. The ideal candidate can track a range of interactions and conversations over months to ensure follow through and provide resources to fundraisers and Leadership, including brief presentations. Some experience in helping to design and execute donor engagement initiatives is a plus. WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience generating reports and sorting and interpreting data and presenting it.
  • Experience working across departments and functions, and within development and fundraising teams.
  • Experience with current technology for project management and communications, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and BBCRM.
  • Experience in writing updates and compelling briefs, editing for flow, readability and accuracy, and proofreading.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in principles and practices of prospect research, funder tracking, and/or project management.
  • Experience and interest in conducting database and general research to identify prospects and prospect interests.

  • Demonstrated experience using diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships and motivate staff.
  • Experience coordinating projects and driving progress, leading without explicit authority.
  • Experience interpreting guidelines to achieve desired results.
  • Experience with database management.
  • Interest in engaging donors and audiences.
  • Knowledge of current trends in the specific field.
  • Strong organization skills, accuracy, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Successful experience implementing strategic program goals.
  • Understanding of basic accounting practices.

SALARY INFORMATION

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $66,950 - $97,500 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
