Job Description:

Our client is seeking a dynamic and creative Assistant Designer to join their team. This individual will play a crucial role in creating commercially viable product designs across collections, ensuring they align with the brand's aesthetic and business strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the design team in creating brand-right, commercial designs that reflect the conceptual direction and business strategy
  


• Deliver design sketches/prototypes and provide clear specifications for construction
  


• Build and maintain the sample room
  


• Create flat sketches and CAD images
  


• Prepare the design team for routine and milestone meetings, including the coordination of line presentation boards/tableaus and selection of product samples
  


• Communicate ongoing development details to internal partners and vendors
  


• Partner with technical design on fit and execution of prototypes, assisting with scheduled fittings and necessary follow-up
  


• Track and organize development samples, ensuring timely delivery
  


• Attend routine team meetings and key partner alignment sessions
  


• Adapt designs based on feedback, incorporating for finalization
  


• Utilize resources in sourcing new ideas, both internally and externally, and stay up to date on competitor research/trend analysis
  
  

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  


• Entry level with some design experience in a comparable retail environment
  


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign; Centric is a plus
  


• Exceptional talent with a commercial fashion eye and detail in product styling/performance
  


• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to recall information
  


• Customer service philosophy and a team-oriented approach
  


• Highly motivated, passionate, and results-oriented
  


• Solid communication and presentation skills
  


• Solid understanding and ability to communicate construction instructions

This role will be a hybrid role, with three days per week in the office and additional days based on business needs. The successful candidate will be provided with a company computer and will be expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Portfolios are required for consideration.
