Oriental Weavers Hospitality has an immediate opening for a Senior Axminster and Hand tufted Carpet Designer. OWH, being part of the Oriental Weavers Group, is one of the world's finest producers of Axminster and Hand Tufted carpets and area rugs. We are a global, vertically integrated company crafting custom projects in collaboration with international brands and Interior Designers. OWH has a strong, established reputation for providing the Hospitality industry with bespoke, elevated designs with the highest quality of products and services.
The Sr. Design position will report directly to the Design manager based in our corporate office, located in Dalton, Ga. The ideal candidate will be a highly creative, skilled designer with the ability to conceive thoughtfully executed patterns from a gathered brief considering specific manufacturing parameters.
Position Responsibilities Include:
- Create strong conceptual solutions, while working in close relation with the OWH sales team and Hospitality clientele.
- Capable of interpreting concepts beyond the literal, expressing your talent and creativity
- Communicate effectively with Sales personnel, Project Managers and Planning and Estimating teams to manage and meet project requirements in a productive manner.
- Ultimately produce proficiently technical, production-ready design work.
- Use independent judgment in completing tasks of varying levels of complexity to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple projects while remaining flexible and accountable in a very fluid environment.
- Effectively utilize departmental tools such as pom boxes, simulation prints, samples and marketing materials to reach the desired outcome.
- Navigate a CRM to efficiently track a project's interactions and remain highly organized.
Position Requirements:
- 3-5 years Axminster design experience
- Bachelor's degree in a creative field; or other related and equal experience
- Knowledge of hand-tufted rug development
- Understanding of seaming diagrams, flooding design templates
- Proficient in Texcelle or APSO design software
- Able to accept constructive criticism and contribute to a positive team atmosphere
- Communicate with Design manager proactively addressing potential schedule conflicts or needs
- Enjoy a hybrid work from home arrangement.
- Local position preferred, while a remote designer will be considered.
