Description: Our client is currently looking for a Test Technician! This is a 12+ month contract and will be fully onsite. Open to entry level and/or new grads. Must have Associate's degree.
This position will provide test and evaluation technician support in either a lab or an aircraft production environment while working alongside production operations personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate and maintain the instrumentation system, including installing a high volume of sensors and associated wiring onto aircraft parts and assemblies per engineering requirements.
Install and maintain various sensor types, primarily including strain gages and accelerometers, as well as thermocouples, RTDs, pressure transducers, etc.
Coordinate with Instrumentation Operations Engineers and Design Build Manufacturing Engineers.
Interpret engineering drawings, perform surface prep, hand sanding, cleaning, handle hazardous materials such as solvents and cleaners, adhesives, and sealants.
Work for periods while standing, kneeling, working from stair ladders, mobile lift platforms, scissor lifts, boom lifts, or supported by overhead support systems.
Use Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye protection and hard toe shoes.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Support activities to plan, conduct, and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies.
Design systems, materials, components, software, and methodologies to meet customer requirements.
Participate in test design and perform routine procurement, fabrication, and assembly of components, test fixtures, and test systems.
Support the coordination of test requirements and assist in reviewing test methods and capabilities.
Facilitate systems integration, fabrication, and modification; support system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post-test tear-down.
Conduct routine tests, analyze data, and document results.
Troubleshoot and recommend resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems.
Associate's Degree or higher, a Technical certificate or degree, or 2 or more years of equivalent technical experience.
Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses; or any variety of electrical components, and associated equipment.
Experience installing aircraft modifications, including fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components, or avionics boxes.
Experience with aerospace assembly and/or electrical fabrication.
