Your Role
The Manufacturing Operator 4 in the Pro 5 department at MilliporeSigma will play a critical role in the production and purification of high-quality flavor and fragrance (F&F) chemical compounds for MilliporeSigma's customers. You will leverage your expertise to drive process improvements, lead problem-solving initiatives, and mentor team members, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include the following:
Independently identify and resolve inefficiencies, implementing sustainable improvements to enhance production processes
Lead thorough root cause investigations and implement formal Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence of issues
Champion 6S/OPEX initiatives, providing expert guidance and support to the team
Document and communicate best practices and innovative ideas to foster a culture of continuous learning
Lead and participate in cross-departmental initiatives, such as PDSA groups, training programs, and safety committees
Demonstrate expert knowledge of relevant SAP applications for accurate data entry, material management, and billing
Modify production records and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and compliance
Perform complex analytical testing, including sample preparation and data interpretation
Act as a key resource and provide leadership functions as required by management
Promote a positive safety, quality, and inclusive work environment through proactive leadership
Proactively assist team members and contribute to departmental and site-wide improvements
Recognize and implement corrective measures for process deviations
Train new employees, mentor colleagues, and maintain accurate training records
Provide effective solutions to production and packaging challenges
Conduct small-scale experiments under authorized supervision
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of process rationale
Serve as a key resource for resolving complex processing issues
Independently develop and execute daily work plans to optimize time and resources
Shift/hours: 1st shift, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, M-F
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED and 7+ years of work experience, including 2 years as Manufacturing Operator III
OR
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or other life science discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
Comprehension of oral and written instructions
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
Attention to detail and problem solving skills
Basic math skills, including using the metric system
Mechanical aptitude and dexterity
